Why Is My Website Slow? A Simple Checklist

A slow website loses visitors, especially on mobile data. Bigger hosting is not always the answer.
Start with images. Large photos straight from a camera are a very common cause. Resize them and use modern formats.
On WordPress, remove plugins you do not use, and be careful with heavy themes and sliders. Keep everything up to date.
Use caching, which saves ready-made pages so that the server does less work. Google PageSpeed Insights is a free way to see what is slowing your pages.
If the server itself responds slowly even after these fixes, it may be time to review your hosting plan.
