Setting Up Staff Email for a Small Business
DomainHostly Team · 1 November 2026
Business email builds trust, but it needs some planning. Otherwise, customer conversations end up in private accounts.
Create role addresses such as sales@ and support@ for work that passes between people. Give named addresses to those who need them.
Keep the main administrator account with the owner, protected by two-step login, and write down where it is managed.
When someone leaves, change the password and forward their mail to a colleague for a period. Do not simply delete the account.
Check your setup with our free business email check, to see whether your MX, SPF and DMARC records are in place.
